Took a road trip to Parksville, BC. And picked up a bottle of Mt. Arrowsmith Sea Run Saison. 7.5% ABV. In a 650 ml bottle. Poured in a stemmed Belgian beer glass a golden straw colour, with a full frothy head. Tastes of sweet lemon meringue pie. A strong ABV, but none of the harshness of basement brews. A really clean and crisp brew with a kick, just like the Mid Vancouver Island seas.

Serving: 650 ml bottled poured into a large wine glass.
Appearance: Nearly clear, bright golden yellow - clouding over with the bottom of the bottle. Topped by frothy head of white soap suds and streaky lace.
Smell: Lemony citrus, stone fruit, fruity and spicy Belgian yeast, and farmyard hay.
Taste: Bold lemon zest followed by sweeter stone fruit and plenty of spicy yeast. Rounded out by earthy and herbal secondary notes.
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with lively, moderate carbonation.
Overall: Refreshing but still relatively spicy and full flavored saison.

I'm not usually a fan of beers in this ABV territory but this one is very good. It achieves a nice clean balance so there's no heat or fat taste from the ABV. Beautifully balanced and clean. Nice bursts of fruity spiciness without becoming over-the-top. Silver medal at 2017 BC Beer Awards.
