Now this is more like it! The Saison Amer series has done well to show off the hop fruits and essences to varying degrees, but here it all comes together. Murky bright yellow body with a faded white collar and lazy lacing. Smell is lead by the wine wine barrel before the citrus from the hops kick in, with some lingering funk, white grape, and a kiss of hop bitters. Taste features a base layer of white wine, oak, belgian yeast, and flowers, with accenting grape, hay and funk, before the bursting citrus, peach, pineapple, and a hint of passion fruit, really opens up beautifully, not bitter but juicy from hops. Barrel seems doesn't fight hops, instead it welcomes them in from the cold. Feel is bright, slightly funky, vinous, dry then wet with the juicy hop burst, then dries out moderately. Slightly tart. A well thought out new world beer that lets every ingredient star in their own way to form a beautiful and cohesive whole.
