Bottled November 24, 2020.

Hazy pastel canary yellow, a rocky billowing head of foam rises above the rim of the glass, looking like a dome built of marshmallow fluff. Spotty lacing and lasting head retention. Looks very nice.

Aroma is citrusy and acidic, with an underlying minerally wet stone note related to wild bacterial funk. Passionfruit, lemon, sour orange. Highly reminiscent of a Vinho Verde wine.

Tart and citric up front, very acidic. Passionfruit and lemon, crisp clean mineral lactobacillus with some peripheral citric acidity at first. Lemon lime calamansi. Light green botanicals add complexity. Very mellow mild hop aftertaste, the slightest wisp of bitterness in the back.

Spritzy and effervescent, moderately tart verging on sour. Light and very quenching. Love to drink Afterthought in the Summertime. Will look for this fresh next time to get the full effect of the whole cone Copper hops grown in Illinois.

Served from the bottle in a Laguitas mason jar.

Pours a hazy straw topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises lemon zest, grapefruit zest, light hay, and flowers. The taste washes the tongue in tart citrus juices (mostly lemon, lime, and orange), with some lemongrass, light cracked wheat, and white wine must coming along for the ride. The body is a lithe medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. A pretty tasty saison, to be sure.
