Dual Expression is our very hoppy saison brewed with Citra and Simcoe hops. This is the first time we have fermented it in an oak barrel rather than stainless steel, and we really like the result. The extended fermentation in a former Sauvignon Blanc barrels softened the bitterness and left nice white wine and oak character underneath the citrus, tropical, and light pine notes from the hops.

Had on tap. Somewhat cloudy golden body with a full whit head and sheets of lacing. Taste is deep and complex: great white wine barrel and juicy grapefruit and other citrus starring, with a setup of dry funk and juicy sour citrus and papaya front with pine and oak elevating for the wild yeast finish. Smell is a little flatter but much the same, adds flowers. Feel has a fullness across the palate but isn't heavy at all, starts wet and sour but dry out with some funkiness by the finish. One of the best afterthoughts of the year imho
