Best IPA I’ve had in a long time. Smells amazing. Tastes like an IPA without trying too hard to run you off a high bitterness. Highly recommended from this brewer.

On tap
Poured a lightly hazy yellow to straw with a pretty good head.
A nice malty and chewy backbone supports a complex floral hops with a bit of citrus.
Typical of everything from Dorcol, I really like this one and would easily recommend it.

an ipa that i had a really tough time with. there is a serious hop burn on the back end, and i dont just mean like its highly dosed and bitter or green, i mean its sharp to the point of almost seeming messed up to me. same with the yeast, this is estery and phenolic and just totally weird, soapy, and it feels like soap in the guts too, a really weird sensation for an ipa, and frankly i think this one is just a total miss. seems to have decent reviews though, so maybe we just had an off batch, but it was at the brewery, which would also be totally inexcusable, no dirty line bar or distributor that doesnt protect quality to blame here. its clear and looks the part, bubbly enough too, with some nice malt balance to the hops, a little citrus, its kind of old school and safe as a recipe, not no flaws with that. its the fermentation and the almost chemical hop finish that kind of ruin it, and it wasnt just me, my brother could barely stomach it either. maybe even a soapy glass, im trying to make an excuse for it, but maybe its just bad. frankly we didnt love any of the beers in here, and as cool as the vibe of the place is, it would be near the bottom of my list of breweries to return to next time in san antonio...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
