About as black and stout-y as you'd expect in the glass.
Aroma follows taste but with less intensity.
Flavor has a nice blend of toasty, roasty and burnt, a bit of chocolate and coffee, and a little dark fruits that come right before the finish, which then goes back to the expected root flavors of a stout.
Overall I find this to be a very good example of the style.
Dorcol has one of the best records for me for trying a new beer from them and being really impressed. This beer adds another data point supporting that trend.
