Appearance: Pours a fairly clear, golden-amber body with a short-lived, bubbly, off-white head.
Smell: Biscuity malts, a hint of herbal hops with an encroaching, almost unclean fruitiness about it.
Taste: Lightly toasty biscuity malts with a pop of sweetness supported by a herbal hop character. There's an interval, where that tongue-coating unpleasantness from eating something artificial, like, say a spoonful of marshmallow fluff envelops the mouth along with that suspect fruitiness from the aroma.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Overall: At the very best, it's a second-rate Märzen. Do yourself a favor and stick to the German and Austrian classics -- you'll be glad you did!

Appearance: Slight haze, amber color. Frothy off white head with moderate retention
Aroma: Bready malt, spicy/herbal hops
Flavor & Aftertaste: Spicy/herbal hops, light toasted malt. Moderate sweetness. Restrained, but present bitterness.
Mouth-feel: Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Clean finish.
Overall: Pours a slightly hazy amber with a head retention short of its German cousins. Color tends toward Ayinger Marzen (Amber) vs Paulaner Marzen (Medium Amber) for comparison. Drinks nice and easy. It's not quite as good as the imported German version but and good example of a lighter Marzen. It is not as sweet and drinks a little lighter than many American made versions, thus sending itself to drink in large quantities.
