Citrusy, fruity, malty and strong of course. Packed with four different American hops, Amarillo, Centennial, Columbus and Simcoe, creating a vicious harmony. The well-hidden alcohol makes this beer easy to drink. Maybe too easy.

Brewed first on the 7th of October, 2016 under the simple name of DIPA, born on the 18th of November later that year. We officially named the 18th of November LIQUID COCAINE day and we celebrate it each and every year with a line of international events and special one-off releases in the past few years with bars-friends-fans celebrating with us.

Copenhagen 11/6 2020. 44 cl can from Kvickly, Allerød. The can is with a detailed drawing, Chris Ware style made out to look like a Robot head.

Pours almost clear, golden yellow with a medium-sized white head. Stable. Settles as 1 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a strong fermented sweetness and tart notes. Mango and papaya in a state of decay. Citrus and grape. Odor of alcohol peeking in.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.

Flavor is intense with a strong, fermented sweetness followed by fairly strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter and a bit rough. Lingering. Semi-dry finish.

It may not be pure cocaine - but it's a nice, strong, boozy DIPA.

Nothing too special but quaffable. Hop forward with sugar sweet finish. Like a hoppy beer retro turn of the century, even Stone yes. Lasting small head, freshness, and the tres unique lab serving glass made it. Name under liquid censored because of...censors.

It's getting super disappointing that the only IPAs the Hungarians seem to make is the malty West Coast style. And that is the only type of IPA I don't really care for. This too pours coppery, with the sweet malt nose. A hard no.
The taste is malty of course but with four hops in here, you'd think it wouldn't be. The taste isn't too bad but someone needs to show the Hungarians that a solid IPA can be citrusy, with earthy tones and a golden yellow colour and not a malt bomb.

Poured from 440mL can into a tall kitchen glass. Best by 7/12/23.

Appearance: murky medium-golden hue with a finger of frothy ivory foam on top with a little bit of an orange cast. Could use a little more head retention, but it looks nice.

Smell: richly malty with a big dose of earthy, citrusy hops. Definitely malt-forward for what I think of a double IPA being today, but overall it is not bad.

Taste: sweet malt with plenty of citrusy, herbal, earthy hops. Despite the sweetness, it's not exactly a malt bomb -- there is plenty of hop character and just enough bitterness to balance. The label says this is all barley malt, but something about the hopping gives this beer a rye-like character. This beer is really quite interesting!

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.

Overall: this beer isn't quite dangerously drinkable, but it's pretty darn drinkable for 9%. I think it's a bit sweet and heavy for superb drinkability, but still, worth checking out.

Dark orange coulour, medium foam, clear aspect (on tap).
Really nice smell (ripe fruits, some floral hints).
The taste is also dominated by sweet fruits (peaches, apricots, grapes, some citrus) with a strong hoppy feel that makes it very drinkable and pleasant.
Really good!

On tap. Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has oranges, peaches and other fruits with a bit of hop resin. Taste is sweet at first, quite hoppy but not bitter with lots of ripe oranges and pink grapefruit. Medium plus body with medium carbonation. Quite smooth and easy drinking.
