Eclipse Brewing "Russian Imperial Stout"

Typical appearance for a R.I.S. but with excellent head retention and very good lacing. The aroma expresses roastiness and dark chocolate. The flavor is bitter and roasty with some dark chocolate and some dark malt acidity. There's some licorice in there as well. The alcohol is unfortunately evident to the point that it hurts it a bit, and it's really a bit too bitter even for the style.
