Went over to Coin Haus after meeting someone for lunch. The beer I wanted to try was apparently gone, so I planned on having four or five 5-to-6-oz. pours of some beer to review. After having a pretty solid Gose from Barrel Harbor, it was onto this one (which I picked over a Groundswell hazy beer) because of their awesome collab with Burning Beard I had previously called Haze Macabre. Untappd description called it, “This Hazy NE IPA blinds you with its juicy flavor from the Citra and Mosaic hops while the Pilsner and 2 Row malts cloak your mouth for a smooth finish. This style from New England is centered around the flavorful haze left dancing in your glass, mystifying your tastebuds and satisfying your soul.”
Poured a hazy gold color with 2-to-3 fingers of off-white frothy head. A few bubbles were seen coming up from the bottom of the glass. Excellent lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled trashy Mosaic, Citra, pilsner malt, grass, papaya, tangerine, hay and lemon tart. (Smell - 4.00)
Taste was not as good as the nose. Got trashy Mosaic, grass, papaya, pilsner malt, tangerine, Citra, lemon tart and bitter tangerine rind. (Taste - 3.50)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long dry finish. (Feel - 3.75)
Pretty good New England Style beer overall. Would have it again. (Overall - 3.75)
