Also known as 'the stand of the tide', Slackwater is a short period in a body of tidal water when the water is completely unstressed just as you will be unstressed after having our smooth light brown ale. Don't be deceived by the color because it drinks lighter than it looks. With a moderate malt character, our brown ale hints flavors of caramel, chocolate, and coffee with every sip.

Bucktown Brown has a thick, spongy, khaki head and a bubbly, caramel brown appearance, with some lacing. The aroma is of brown bread crust and caramel syrup. The taste is of sour, toasted malt, tannins, brown bread crust, and moderate sweetness. There is some bitterness, but it is muted. The body is medium, and Bucktown Brown finishes mostly dry.

So, here is the description from Port Orleans Brewing Company web page:
Nestled along the lake is a slice of the city few tourists ever find... and we're cool with that. Bucktown's bootlegger roots and laid back vibe inspired our easy-drinking brown ale. With hints of caramel and coffee, this beer has a flavor all its own like the place that shares its name.

That being said, I have to agree. I am fan of New Orleans and Imperial Stouts, but this Brown keeps me jumping around town. It don't get no browner than this. If anyone has Brown Ale I should try, please let me know. I am open minded.
