Very Good
Notes: In tradition with the classic German Märzen styles originally served at Oktoberfest. Mild hopping compliment the rich combination of Pilsner, Vienna and Munich malts which give this brew its beautiful light copper color. Lederhosen not required (although encouraged).

Marzen is one of my favorite styles. It's worth waiting through the heat and humidity to see that first Marzen hit the store shelves. This is the first beer I've had from this Central Texas brewery, and it is good. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin head. Taste hits the right balance for the style, malty with the alcohol well hidden. Top tier domestic Marzen.

The beer is a copper color with a faint haze. Small white head.
Aroma of sweet malt and floral hops.
Caramel taste, some graham cracker. Late hint of hops.
Light/medium bodied.
Nice beer.

Medium amber/orange hazy appearance, giving it a slight knock for the lack of clarity.
Smells rich, Munich malts, brown sugar, yeast bread, a little floral.
Taste is spot on, slightly sweet, brown bread crust, crackers, perfect bitterness on the backend keeps it from being cloyingly sweet.
Mouthfeel is medium.
I just wish we’d get a cold front, I’m so sick of this heat and humidity. This beer will be perfect when fall finally gets here.

T: Very malt forward, roasty, biscuity aftertaste.
F: Medium-bodied, smooth, crisp.
O: Very good Munich style ale.

i love this Oktoberfest from Alstadt in Fredericksburg, Tx. They are honoring the german/bavarian heritage of the hill country immigrants who came there in the 1800s. I was recently there and had some good beers, this one above all was my favorite. It is very drinkable, nice quality and tastes good. If i had one thing to change i would add a little more copper color and a little more biscuit/roasty taste through a slight change in the grain bill. but as is this is a great beer for Fall.

From a 12oz bottle. Pours an amber color with an inch of white head. Sweet malty smell with some floral notes. Medium body. Toasted malt flavors, moderate sweetness, with a little bit of floral hops on the finish. A classic Oktoberfest true to style.

Overall an excellent example of one of my favorite styles. Orange and just the right amount of carbonation. Smells and tastes of classic octoberfest beers. You really can't go wrong here.

Note: it's called "Okt" now

A: Pours a perfectly clear reddish/amber/orange color. At first a one and a half finger white head forms, and gently recedes. Light lace left behind.
S: A wonderful aroma of baked bread and grains up front. Which just screams FALL weather. A touch of earthy, hay field, grassy like hops. Simple and excellent.
T: That wonderful toasted malt, baked bread and grains flavor up front and center. A touch of sweetness mid palate, but finishes with just enough earthy and grassy hops. Without leaving any real bitterness.
M/O: A light to medium body. Well carbonated, crisp, super clean and smooth. This is downed in big gulps and I want to keep coming back.

Pretty spot on if you ask me. A great American example of an Oktoberfest, and a perfect example of less is more. Really impressed with this, and highly recommended.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber color with a one finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a touch of foamy lace on the sides if the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is lighter overall, but consists mostly of a bready and caramel malt smell with some notes of light grass and hay aroma.
Taste – The taste begins follows the nose, and begins with a lightly toasted grainy and caramel malt flavor that has a little bit of doughiness. The doughiness fades all while the grain gets stronger. At the same time there is a bit of a herbal hop and some hay like flavors that begin to develop. With a touch of earthiness at the very end of the flavor profile one is left with a crisp and rather clean lightly toasted malt flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium to slightly lighter with a carbonation slightly more effervescent. For the crisp tastes of the brew the feel is rather nice and makes for a rather clean sipper.
Overall – A nice, easy drinking, and more crisp Oktoberfest. Rather nice!

Poured from a bottle into a stein. Slightly off-white head that quickly dissipates. Appears as medium copper in the glass with mild carbonation. A not overbearingly sweet malt with bread and caramel up front. Finishes very smoothly with a very slight hop bite at the end. A perfect example of a märzen and one to go back to for sure.

12oz bottle with a best by date of 11/06/20. Opened 8-1-20.
1 finger off-white head with good retention, slowly falls and settles in at a solid 1/4".
Copper color with very good clarity. Light lacing.
Toasted grain, caramel, lightly sweet malty nose. Clean lager aromas.
Sweet malt, toasted bread, dough, grain, caramel...definitely Marzen style.
Medium body, low to medium carbonation. Malt driven with a slightly sweet but clean finish.
Very Good.
