The amber arrived sporting a clear copper with gold highlights. Only a 1/4" head that disappeared relatively quickly. My nose sensed nothing. I took the first taste, and the amber was thin with very little hops. I swirled the glass to try the aroma again, and nothing came forward. Very disappointing. This amber needed a little more maltiness and some more hops. The sign stated assertively hopped in the description field, but this was not the case at all. My wife who likes this style agreed on the thinness, but she thought it was OK. The flavor was a little dry also. Average drinkablility.

"Assertively-hopped amber ale with subtle roasted character" per the blackboard. This was a rather strange concoction. For an amber beer, this was definitely more IPA-ish in character. Light amber in appearance, with no head. Aromas are definitely hoppy, with an earthy smell and flavor. I wished this had more of a balancing malty sweetness. Mouthfeel was on the thin side. Low-medium carbonation. Drinkability was decent, with just a slight dirt-like (is "earthy" a more appealing description?) flavor. The name says amber, but the profile is more of an IPA.
