Nice brown color ale with almost no head. The aroma was slight chocolate. The flavor was "winey" and had slight chocolate flavor which continues into the finish which is quite dry and chalky. The body was a bit thin and that chalky finish leaves the drinkability only average for this beer.

The brown ale looked good when it arrived - dark brown in color with blotches of caramel colored bubbles on top of the liquid. The aroma had some roasted malts and hints of nuttiness. The flavor was good, a nice roasted malt flavor with some very suttle chocolate overtones that lingered on the tongue. I can not described the nut flavor accurately, but it was there. The malt level was perfect for this style but the carbonation level was a little less than expected. Very drinkable and one of Liberty's better offerings.
