Round 6: Certainly the most flavorful beer that I had at the Brewery, but a few deterants keeps it from rating higher. A strong amber color promises rich caramel / toffee sweetness. The aromas give that toffee, bready, caramel malt character while balanced with strong citrus, pine scents. Tastes quite sweet with the maltiness and fresh bread / yeast character. Hopped for balance, while adding oranges, grapefruit, lemon, and pine flavors. Hops shine, but do not dominate the beer, in fact leaving it a little on the sweet side. A firm body gives a creamy, frothy texture with moderate hop and alcohol dryness. A light detergent flavor and phenolic (plastic) flavor chases the brew into the finish. Quite good, but problematic.
