750 ml bottle into a snifter. Had 10/30/18. Replacing a rating only of 4.25 from 5/2018, had at a festival.
Pours an opaque, dark brown, thick and oily looking, with a half inch foamy head and soapy cling. Uh oh, the smell starts with a slight sour aroma that increases a bit as it warms. Aromas of roasted malt, vanilla, coconut, chocolate, cocoa, caramel. Nice, but compromised. The taste is also starts slightly sour and tangy, but improves a little as it warms. Flavors of roasted malt, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, some caramel, light molasses. Again, compromised. Smooth, a good full body, appropriately carbonated, but the overall feel isn’t good.
This is a shame. When I had it at the festival, it was really good with expressive aromas and flavors. Heard that many bottles were infected.

Looked black as tar with very little brown lacing. The smell was promising, coconut, milk chocolate, and vanilla. The taste however failed to deliver. Acidic coconut, burning booze ruin the nice milk chocolate and vanilla start. Feels like it wasn't finished brewing, disappointing

Released 6/29/18; drank 7/20/18 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a HUGE dark tan head (careful pouring!); decent lace.
Peanut butter, milk chocolate & faint vanilla notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Peanut butter & faint vanilla flavors up front; dry earth & dark chocolate notes on the finish. As this warmed, mild booze heat emerged.
A messy, dry stout; it's no pastry treat, and isn't a good RIS either. Back to the drawing board...
