Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can. No date stamp. Pouring into my trusty snifter.
The beer pours a jet black color with no light passing through the glass. An incredibly short lived beige head foams up less than .5 cm and is gone soon after I put the glass down.
The aroma is complex and interesting with a malt focus. I get rich chocolate and cinnamon with some coffee roast notes and rich nutty hazelnut scent. No hint of ABV or any hop notes. I actually feel like there is coconut in there even though its not mentioned on the label. Im presuming it is the hazelnut confusing my schnoze a bit.
First sip reveals a medium to thick body with very soft and gentle carbonation. Texture is smooth as it rolls easily across my palate. Sort of easy to drink for an 11% brew.
Flavor is pretty robust also, lots of chocolate and roasted malt notes mixing with coffee grounds and a bit of brown sugar too. The finish rolls to some hazelnut notes that linger after the swallow. Not very sweet like coffee creamer, more of a husky nut note here. I never get any hop notes nor any ABV hints on this big beer.
this is a nice complext imperial stout with a lot of flavor going on. Nice Imperial Stout.

The 8oz cans these come in are perfect. This would get a 5 if it was just a SMIDGE less sweet but near perfect none the less.

Another great adjunct stout from st errant. The way these guys blend adjuncts with stouts is something to take note of. All the flavor occupy their own space and shine in there own right. Cheers Saint Errant keep doing what you do!

Midnight black with brown tones on the edging and thick collar. Lacing abounds. Smell might be the best representation of cinnamon and sugar holiday nuts I have smelled in a beer, wow! Vanilla, heavy duty chocolate, and dark roast coffee support and amplify. Amazing aromas. Taste starts with the coffee and chocolate then met and melded with creamy hazelnut cream with cinnamon and touches of vanilla, finishes roasty, well rounded. Feel is buttery and creamy, roast bitters and coffee textures balance to stop the sweetness for taking over, sneaky light

Thick sweet and flavorful. Little can packed with flavor. Boozy sweet chocolate nose. Tastes like bread soaked in nutty bread with cinnamon sprinkled on top, with a shot of coffee chaser.

I love the 8oz cans. It's the perfect amount for one serving. This beer is thick, viscous, chocolate Hazelnut goodness.
Small can, BIG flavor. Saint Errant keeps killing it with their Imperial Stout series!!!!! Another Great Small Chicago land Brewery!!!
