Released 3/2/21; drank 5/31/21 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a big dark tan head; decent lace.
Chocolate syrup, dark roast coffee bean, caramel, vanilla & mild coconut notes in the nose.
Creamy medium thick mouthfeel.
Chocolate syrup & dark roast coffee bean flavors up front; a mix of vanilla & coconut on the finish, with some sweet caramel notes. As this warmed, booze heat emerged, but wasn't overpowering.
Sweet for sure, but not bad, and the 8oz can was probably a good amount.

Taste: rich, baker's chocolate, toasted coconut, dark malty warming finish. Same with the nose.Dark brown/black, mostly opaque, dark tan delicate head and lace. Full body. Smooth but still has a boozy bite at the end.

I really enjoyed this stout. The mouth feel of this beer is absolutely delightful - perfectly carbonated but substantial at the same time. In my experience that is hard to do and very satisfying when done right. I am not usually a big fan of coconut in my beers, as many brewers use it in an overpowering way. In this case, I am pleased to say that the coconut is not overpowering, and is used in a way that is nearly imprecivable, it adds to the stout without distracting. Overall the stout features a delicious coffee profile (by Tugboat Coffee) with bright notes of vanilla and substantial coco. It made me happy!
I bought some in a small 8oz can, which had two cute dogs on a robins egg blue background. Would gladly buy a 4 pack or growler if available in the future. I would say this is one of the better stouts I have had in recent memories and hope the brewers get the opportunity to make more in the future.

This beer is more like a 4.8
It has great color and pours very nicely. Not overly thick or runny. Great carbonation to it and the flavors are well balanced between the coconut and the Cacoa Nibs
