Thanks to Samkuhgee for this one from the recent Can Cans BIF. 16oz can (no date) poured into 16oz tulip. Poured fully turbid and murky dark orange color with an inch+ of white head that had good retention and lacing.

Pineapple dominant in the nose, with just a faint hit of tartness. No real base grain/malt aspect.

On the tongue, the pineapple still was the lead component, but some other fruits were present as well. The sourness level was very low, more like tart than sour.

The body was very thick and full, for a supposed Berliner Weisse, smooth, carried good carb, and had a sweet finish that dried out a touch.

drinkability was very good, and easy drinker for a warm afternoon.

Overall, an enjoyable beer that doesn't really fit any of its claimed categories well. Worth grabbing if you see it.

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.

Run the cays! Anyway, this stuff pours a hazy amber-gold topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises sweet passion fruit, pineapple juice, light cream soda, and powdered sugar. The taste brings in more of the same, the pineapple providing a subtle nip of tartness amidst a sea of fruit juices. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a rather enjoyable fruited Berliner that cuts out the pastry stuff in favor of the fruit (admittedly, the tartness suffers a bit, but not enough to question the style) and thrives because of it.
