Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin khaki head that dissipates to sparse patches with slight lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, light vanilla and nuts. Flavor is dark toasted malt, milk chocolate, vanilla, nuts and some light coconut in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Kind of a relief after my last overly sweet pastry stout, but this one goes the other way into blandness territory. The base malt is satisfactory with a little vanilla and decent cocoa, but there is only light, generic nuts and a touch of coconut in the finish. OK, but doesn't stand out.
