500 ml bottle into a tulip snifter. Released 10/2023, had 6/8/25.
Pours near black and opaque, with no head and light foamy lacing. I agree with @FBarber about the wax. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, rye whiskey- more as warms, some oak, light marshmallow. Flavors of bourbon, vanilla, rye whiskey, chocolate, light oak. Has a spicy taste as it warms. Smooth, creamy, fairly thick, a very good full body, carbonated on the low side.
Incredible vanilla notes for a beer with no adjuncts. Both barrels show well, especially the rye when this warms up. Like all of their late 2023 BA releases, this probably could have benefited from a little more carbonation. But this is solid and very enjoyable.

An exceptional brew that blew me away. There was an intense toasted marshmallow profile without any additions. I don't know how they did it but it was awesome. This was followed up by vanilla bursts and deep wood. The flavor was just top-of-the-line. I have a feeling their barrel selection put this one on the top shelf.

Some of the hardest wax to get off a bottle I have ever encountered - just be forewarned.
Pours a thicc, viscous, oily black consistency. Completely opaque, shiny dark black. No head to speak of - it really doesn't show much life. I want at least some kind of a head here.
Aroma is incredible - there are notes of chocolate, oak, musty wet wood, rye, vanilla, bourbon and cinnamon. Lovely array of flavors.
The flavor profile on this is where it really shines. Notes of oak, vanilla, chocolate, rye whiskey, wet wood, brown sugar and cinnamon. The barrel is prominent but not dominant. The underlying stout is sweet, but I personally did not find it to be overly sweet. Your mileage may vary.
Feel is thick, full bodied, creamy. I do think it would benefit from a bit more carbonation, but that is a minor quibble.
Overall this is an outstanding barrel aged stout from Saint Errant. its my first from them and I am quite impressed.

I had this on draft 10/24/23 @ the Green Lady.
Black appearance.
Almost no tan head; almost no lace.
Chocolate, rich vanilla & faint oak notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Chocolate, cream & oak flavors.
They say no adjuncts, but this was still too sweet for me.
