I had this beer on cask in a tall Becher-style pint glass at the brewery in Edinburgh.
Appearance: lovely amber hue with a clear body and a finger of frothy ivory foam.
Smell: moderately sweet, with a nice caramelly character and breadiness. Smooth and enticing.
Taste: nutty, toasty, slightly sweet, and just a little bitter. For a light Scottish ale, they have packed some flavor in here.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a very low carbonation, as befitting a cask ale. That said, it does have a decent texture.
Overall: a good example of a style we don’t see too much in the USA. Quite quaffable.
