Poured on draft into a pint glass at the Last Chair. Pours a very attractive dark brown with a solid finger of sticky light brown head that has excellent retention and leaves behind thin webs of lace.
Smell is toffee, cocoa, biscuity grain, and hints of dry coffee grounds.
Taste follows really nicely balanced toffee, leather, biscuit, cocoa, and light expresso really silky smooth, Founders like.
Mouthfeel is a little bigger than medium, gentle carbonation, not really dry, and drinks very nicely, but almost seems a little bigger than its ABV.
Overall this is a fantastic and well balanced Baltic, that could keep you warm on a cold evening or could be sipped as a desert beer. Really very good.
