Delve into the heart of German brewing heritage with "Miner's Pick" Altbier, a tribute to the craftsmanship and rich history that define this classic style. Miner's Pick is brewed with the same meticulous attention to detail that German brewers have upheld for centuries. This well balanced Altbier has a toasty, malted flavor that's both clean and crisp and finishes with a slight hop bitterness.

Appearance: Very dark brown body that only allows shadows of your hand to be seen when put up to the light. Poured with a thumb of head that did stick around a while, but did not lace.

Smell: Rich toffee malt predominantly with maybe a touch of chocolate about it. It's fairly one noted, and warming doesn't really help it come out. That said, there's nothing I would say is bad about it.

Taste: Very malty, as toffee with touchs of fig dominant the start of the profile before leading into a slight bitter chocolate touch to round things out. Simple, but well done.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation is decent and helps out the entire beer, but never gets too aggressive. The aftertaste does cling sweetly a bit much, as toffee malt dominates it and does build. Transistioning is good, but it's not a long journey.

Drinkability: Medium bodied, and very malt heavy, which is something I do like. That said, usually I'd expect a bit more of a dry yeast in a altbier. That said, if not for the clingy sweetness, this would be remarkably easy to drink as it settles down well.

Final Thoughts: This is very malt forward, which isn't something I expect from something whose can labels it as a German Altbier. I does drink like a very malt forward English Brown Ale, but lighter and less creamy. I enjoy it, but I'm not sure if it is hitting the style notes right. Still good though in my eyes.

Cola brown with a decent head and some lacing. Nose is gentle caramel malt with a wee whiff of chocolate. Simple caramel to taste, again with a touch of chocolate. A pretty basic brew, not a big flavor profile. Medium bodied. Drinkable.
