Roy Pitz Barrel House "Dry Hopped Foeder Sour"
$5/5 oz. on tap 09/12/2019
Notes: Same as the regular Folder Sour... 'Hazy amber, almost copper-colored body beneath a short head of white that fades readily as sour beers tend to do. Aroma: oak, leather, typical Brettanomyces suggestion of acidity, red fruit (cherry, plum), a little earth. The flavor follows, tart/sour but not too sour - like raspberries or blackberries. Some residual malt gives it a nice balance. Light-medium in body. Gently effervescent.' ...but with some mild added hop character that's leafy, earthy, and a touch spicy. There may be some citrus in there as well but it's hard to tell when it's up against the tartness and fruitiness that already exist. I don't feel that the additional hops add anything to the beer, but neither the detract from it.
