Well I'm looking forward to seeing what Tyler is brewing nowadays (formerly of the Bruery fame).
This pours a deep brown. Head begins as a mocha colored fluffy blanket of tight foam that evolves into larger bubbles as it retreats to a half finger of scattered bubbles. Love the mocha color. Slight lacing.
Smell carries some blackberry notes, some coffee roast, and maybe plum.
Taste has some berry, but the roast seems to dominate. The blackberry that comes through tastes underripe. Ever so faint nod toward chocolate comes through and quickly fades away. Not getting much more than that.
Mouthfeel is a tad thin. Carbonation stays along for most of the ride in a gentle way.
Overall, I would say that I would like to see a bit more complexity to this beer as well as more melding of the flavors. They don't really come together but rather come through separated.
