DDH Hazy DIPA w/ 100% Nelson
It’s our series of beers highlighting the extremes of one single hop variety, double dry hopped to overload the senses with all of what it is. This is our 3rd time making this beer, but this time using our freshie lot of hand selected 2022 Nelson Sauvin from the homies @freestylefarms . The Nelson they put out just gets better every year, with tis year it being the most specialist yet! This Nelson helps create a flavor profile of yummy ripe guava, Oro Blanco Grapefruit, NZ Sauv Blanc, and Cotton Candy.

Canned on 1/24/23; consumed on 2/18/23
Pours an opaque, pale gold body capped with multiple fingers of fluffy, soapy, white foam; great head retention leaves imposing waves of sudsy cap, a slight, frothy collar, and a comprehensive array of chunky, webby lacing caked across the walls of the glass.
Aromas open to strawberry, kiwi, and dew-soaked grass, with a pronounced peach zest fading through a clean, white grape underscore and lingering clementine on the closing impressions.
Taste presents green strawberry, peach, and mango resounding upfront, with accents of guava peel and mandarin over the mid-palate easing to slick, semi-dank resins through the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel shows a medium-light body and moderate carbonation, espousing a pillowy prickle as subtle bittering is interspersed across the palate; creamy into the back end, a silky gloss steadily fades to a juicy ease on the playfully dry finish.
Lushly tropical with an indulgent hop focus, a juicy bog of saturation is coated over a comparatively airy structure; NEIPA in an intense yet impressively palatable form.

I try to eschew giving 5s for anything these days, but genuinely can't imagine how this could be any better. I'm not a huge Citra fan, and I remember how "Just One Thing ...Citra" made me practically need a new pair of underwear. At that time I was thinking "if they ever do this beer with Nelson, it could be an all-time favorite contender." It's safe to say, I'm not disappointed.

Just wow. All kinds of wow. This one is straight hog wild. Like, Porky is straight running the pen and is answering to no one. Just lush. So lush like a mango hanging back and forth in the breeze on a tree from your favorite island. Any island. The one at miniature golf? Sure. Whatever is your glory.
Peace.

Sweet white wine grape, grapefruit citrus, and prominent tropical dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a tropical hoppy and grapefruit citrus bitter finish. This lingers a bit and then some juicy dank notes start to show up on the backend. This feels juicy on the palate, but is just a tad thin for a double IMO. This is still really good and tasty!
Batch 2! Canned 12/15/2021! Wow! Just outstanding Nelson hop aromatics! Just dank, white wine grape, and grapefruit citrus for days! And did I say dank?!?! I mean...this should be the standard! Taste follows with a beautifully balanced, tropical hoppy, and dank, grapefruit citrus bitter finish. They delivered everything you want from Nelson hops on the taste buds. Feels darn near perfect on the palate...maybe just a tad thicker would have made me shed a tear. This ranks right up there with the best all-Nelson IPAs I've had! Reminds me of an old school, dialed in Professor's Patent! Adjusted the ratings for this batch. Batch 1 I rated 4.25/4.5/4.5/4.25/4.5 = 4.46.
