Canned on 9/29/20; consumed on 11/12/20
Pours a dark sunflower yellow haze capped with multiple fingers of soapy, fluffy, white foam; great head retention fades slowly to leave chunky mounds of bubbly cap, a more uniform, thinner collar, and large strands of soapy lacing clinging to the glass.
Aroma brings Mandarin orange and key lime forward as overwhelmingly prominent notes upfront before a brief hit of dank grass edges into the middle; light lemon, papaya and melon rind all take turns accenting the back end of the bouquet subtly, though juicy key lime ultimately continues to dominant through the close.
Taste shows a familiar hit of Mandarin orange to open, now sporting spiced pineapple juice and light lemon through a powerful dose of bright key lime across the remainder of the profile, later accompanied by a touch of flaky grain adding earthy textures to the finish.
Mouthfeel offers a medium body elevated briefly by a soft, moderate-high carbonation flattening quickly to a juicier texture into the mid-palate; a soft hoppy twang brightens the back end while maintaining consistent crispness, and presenting a vague bitterness through finish.
Reliably one-dimensional in flavor and fluffy on the palate with a semi-juicy, semi-twangy harmony, this NEIPA is left drinking easily and presenting accessibly; not memorable, but wholly refreshing.
