It's the DDH DIPA version of Forced Optimism! Double dry-hopped with Citra, and (as my son would say) "just a wibble bit" of Idaho 7. The flavor profile is super fun, and reminds us of mango Hi-Chew, pink Starbursts, and Squirt soda.

Canned on 1/25/22; consumed on 2/9/22
Pours a turbid, pale straw-gold body topped with multiple fingers of fluffy, soapy, eggshell-white foam; great head retention yields a rocky two fingers of cap, an expansive, frothy collar, and a moderate spatter of chunky, webby lacing draped across the walls of the glass.
Aromas of pineapple, mango peel, and zesty passionfruit burst forward, with grapefruit and a touch of wilted mint bringing a twangy, earthy underscore to the middle as danker notes interspersed across the back end of the bouquet; musty lemon meets orange zest for a resurgent citrus on the close.
Taste opens with pineapple husk and passionfruit, while mossy resins expand to lemon zest over the mid-palate with a bready malt foundation lingering in the distance; a tropical persistence through the back end emulsifies to a lingering, juicy tangerine cream past the finish.
Mouthfeel offers a medium body with a fluffy spritz of moderate carbonation, leaving juicy resins distributed across the mid-palate as an even layer of hoppy grit presents over the back end, culminating with a bright twang outweighing the wispier bitterness presenting through the finish.
Drinking lighter than its ABV might indicate, the double dry-hopping is trimmed and focused, successfully amplifying myriad tropical character and earthy undertones without the heftier textures weighing OK n the palate, ultimately leaving a juicily resinous, slightly dank, and exceedingly bright prevailing impression.
