Packaged on 3/24/2022 - consumed on 4/11/2022 - poured from a tall-boy can into my Moonlight shaped pint glass.
Brilliantly clear xanthous liquid supports three fingers of active ivory soft peaks. Fine sandy lacing; excellent retention.
Rich malty aroma with distinctive pils notes and a low grassy noble hop background.
Crisp bready palate entry, some melanoidins develop but then fade into a brisk finish with hints of lemon rind, clover, Lipton tea, and sourdough starter discard. Not much if any DMS, though the "lager" yeast contributes some low notes. Mild bitterness throughout without a lot of hop flavor. More citrus/grain complexity emerge as the beer warms up a bit.
Medium-light body, good carbonation, some tannins, low alcohol, not-quite-refreshing.
Wasn't quite sure where to place this on the Dortmunder/Festbier/Helles spectrum, but it is well crafted and easy drinking with enough malt heft and hop bitterness to keep it interesting.
