Canned on 6/8/22; consumed on 7/12/22
Pours an opaque, dark gold body capped with multiple fingers of dense, soapy, white foam; great head retention leaves large, splotchy islands of cap, a moderate, frothy collar, and an extensive array of chunky, sudsy webs of lacing strewn around the walls of the glass.
Aromas of key lime and quieter grapefruit peel upfront phase to flaky malt, twangy guava, underripe pineapple over time, leaving a slight grassy undertone as the bouquet progresses.
Taste offers mango and fuzzy peach skins cut with subtle grapefruit, progressing to underripe melon over the mid-palate and hints of white grape and lime on the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel brings a medium body with a taut, moderate carbonation, leaving slick resins progressing to a juicy brightness enmeshed in a firm hop twang; a soft grit on the back of the tongue results in minimal bittering on the back end and a minor-moderate hop acidity lingering through the finish.
Immersed in a tropical glow brought from an overtly resinous sheen, this DIPA presents an easy, casual 8.7% ABV with few frills and a relaxed drinking experience.
