Our good good pals “The Kevin’s” over at Bale Breaker included us in their insanely cool Fresh Hops Fly program this year. What does that mean? Well, they picked 1,000 lbs of fresh/wet Mosaic at their Loftus Ranches and Yakima Chief hop farm, then threw it on an Alaska Airlines flight, and then we brewed the hoppiest IPA we’ve done this year with them. We used a whopping 20 pounds per bbl of that Wet Mosaic on the hot side, and then hit it with another 3 lbs per bbl on the cold size using freshly dried pellets from the same 2024 lot of Mosaic. All in all, it’s easy to say, that this is one of the best IPA’s we’ve released this year. Tasting notes? Lots of pineapple, some good ol’ sweaty armpit, rainbow sherbet, lots of blueberry, and the freshest devil’s lettuce.

16oz pour at the brewery in Cost Mesa. Says it's a fresh hop with Mosaic.

Pours clear brassy. Medium sized head, dense. Moderate carbonation. Smell is dank, bright, juicy. Lots of melon rind bitterness.

Taste is similar, dryer than I would have guessed from the nose. Lots of resin and pith.

Mouthfeel is light and very dry. Overall, very nice IPA, pretty good fresh hop.

Sweet and fresh piney tropical hoppy, blueberry cannabis and spruce tips, and a prominent Mosaic-dank nose on this one! Wow! Outstanding aromatics here! Taste follows very closely with a clean and crushable, Mosaic-dank hoppy bitter finish. The taste lags behind the nose just a step yet it so crushable while being packed with flavor at the same time. I haven't been the biggest fan of fresh hop beers, but this one maybe the best one I have ever had! This is great!
