I find this 12 ounce can on the shelf at Mikkeller & Friends Bottle Shop in Cophenhagen's Norreport Food Market.
It is high praise to be on the shelves of the brewer most famous for Beer Geek strong stouts. For someone like me who is too old to drink this stuff regularly, it is like purchasing a curated can. (Also dessert.)
Dark Reign Looks like many a chocolate syrup I'd like to eat. Smells are a wonderfully complex melange of everything you'd expect, but blended so nothing stands out. Also reflecting a master's touch, Tastes are balanced and, at 14% ABV, amazingly not boozy. Viscous as advertised on the can.
Brewing ain't everything. At eight years old, Bad Seed should be training for its second act: which usually is brewing well and brewing good. Unfortunately, I don't get that from Bad Seed's website. In the nation where English is the second language and most people in Copenhagen speak it well, there is no English button on Bad Seed's website. So I have to look at the photos and see that they are just having fund brewing great beer. That's OK. But what is your Second Act?
