i had a lot higher hopes for this one. a hopped up saison in style, but it tastes like it was fermented way too warm or something, almost plasticy to me in both aroma and flavor, and its past estery and is downright phenolic, chemical, a flaw for sure, not a flavor preference. that said, the beer is light and golden and bubbly and active, small bodied and nicely hopped, with some floral and citrus notes, a green sort of freshness, and just a little bitter pep at the end, if they get the fermentation aspect of this one down, i reckon they would have a tasty and drinkable beer on their hands, but for now, at least this batch, its on the edge of undrinkable, soapy, lemon pledgey, and like the melting handle of a cheap frying pan when left over the opposite burner on the stove (which has happened to me more than i care to admit). perfumey too, but i still find a way to enjoy the hops in here as well as the carbonation, which is spot on for what they are trying to do here. this is way off right now, but a realized success still feels close at hand...
