Taster flight at Level 1. Amber pour, soapy white head and steaky lacing. Aroma is smokey, malty. Taste is more of the smoked malts, not too heave, not too light. Malty with mild bitterness.

Look: Clear red-amber on the pour and a noisy and sudsy head quickly builds and immediately begins to settle, leaving decent lacing behind
Aroma: Wood smoke, umami, warmed bread, wafting barbeque, and light herbal notes
Taste: Starts off with bready malt and a touch of herbal hops that linger for a moment before the smoke party begins. Layers of smoked malt, campfire, savory notes – almost like smoked meat, and barbeque all come together nicely and hold center stage through the close
Mouthfeel: Full but light, clean, medium-high carbonation, and a clean and crisp finish
Overall: I dig it. I haven’t had a Bonus Worlds beer yet that I didn’t like and love that these folks have thrown many curve balls style-wise into this series and this is another great example. A tasty and well-made Rauchbier that isn’t just good but not a ‘training wheels’ type intro to the style but is legit Rauchbier through and through plus at $3.99 for a 19.2oz can, is a great value for the uniqueness and amount of flavor going on in it.
