Look: Clear amber in color with a dense off-white head that swells up and holds as a pillow, slowly settling to reveal great lacing
Aroma: Warm brown bread, toffee, bread crust, wafts of chocolate, and earthy hop notes
Taste: Starts off with a huge bready malt note that includes fresh baked bread, crust, and some light chocolate as well. Earthy and even lightly spicy hops peek through along with toffee in the middle and closes with more bread
Mouthfeel: Light but full, very clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a crisp finish
Overall: This is some tasty stuff. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with almost every one of the beers I’ve tried in this Bonus Worlds series and this one is no different. A well-made and delicious American take on a Dunkel – a style I not only dig but one that isn’t heavily represented. Recommended
