Full of character, this lightly hopped Pilsner has notes of citrus, squeezed Kiwifruit and nectar fruits.

A very decent pils. It made my sandwich taste better and made a quick lunch enjoyable.
A typical Looking pils, a clear golden. It Smells mostly of malt. Tastes introduce the hops for balance, which are modest for a Bohemian. Sits friendly in my mouth and cleanses the palate for more food.
While there is nothing wrong with putting Hougomont in the Bohemian style, the relatively low level of hops means it could comfortably be Bavarian. (The can says an American pils, but they generally are hopped higher like the Bohemian rendition.) If anyone asks to change the style to German, they got my vote.
Typically when I buy a four pack, I give three away. Not so with Hoogie; I'll think I'll keep 'em.
"Never let a few facts get in the way of a good story" is the tagline on their website in which they tell their story in a pretty funny animation. Kings & Convicts seems only two years old and have a dozen brews that have BA ratings. They seem to focus and that always helps. An Aussie and Brit team, I like Kings & Convicts so much that I might take the train up to see them someday soon.

Taste: crisp, bready, semi sweet, yeasty, caramel malt, clean finish. bready mellow nose. Golden hue, clear, white delicate head and webbed lattice of lace. Medium to med/light body. Went well with my Bacon Burger at Mike's Roadhouse. 23 IBUs

Pours a transparent golden color with a towering head of fine, off-white froth. Very mild aroma smells vaguely of melons or pears.
The taste features a big, grainy kick up front, succeeded by subtle floral, slightly piney hops. Light body and high carbonation make for a crisp, refreshing mouthfeel that comes off a little watery even by Pilsener standards.
Clearly, this is a beer brewed purely for refreshment, as most Pilseners are. I'm hardly a connoisseur of the style, but I can't say this does much to distinguish itself from the more generic examples of the style.
