Damm S.A. "Damm Daura Shandy"
330 ml brown glass bottle, "BEST BEFORE END: 02/18"
$2 @ Wegmans, Collegeville, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: It pours a very hazy light golden color with a bit of an orange sheen in the full glass beneath a full head of bright white - however, in the time it took me to type that the head has dropped to just a collar and very little lacing has been left behind. That's to be expected though as it's a mix of lager and lemonade, The aroma is of sweet lemon but if you really look you can find some malt in there as well. As might be expected the flavor is the same. It's sweet but not too sweet, probably exactly what you'd expect, and refreshing. There's very little bitterness to it but I find it interesting that I found some hop flavor in the burp. It's light bodied and crisp, which helps to clean it up in the finish. Some sugar lingers but no more than a lemonade or lemon soda. How strong is this? 3.2%, that makes sense. Overall, as far as shandies go it's pretty damned good. I could easily see drinking one of these on the beach in Barcelona - are you allowed to?

I picked this up and it smelled like lemons, and it tasted very much like lemons but without that sour pucker. It reminded me of lemon Kool-Aide, I don't think that's a bad thing. As far as shandy dandy's go this one is worth at least trying especially if you like lemons.

330 ml bottle into pint glass, best before 2/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden/yellow color with a 2-3 finger dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, lime, citrus peel, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, citrus peel, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal/grassy/citrus peel bitterness and lemon tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, citrus peel, wheat, cracker, white bread, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and balance of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance, and zero astringent flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from bitter/tartness and carbonation. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with zero yeast notes present. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy, and lightly acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.2%. Overall this is a delicious shandy style. All around nice robustness and balance of lemonade, pale malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, clean, and refreshing to drink with the mildly tart/bitter finish. Very flavorful for the low ABV, with great balance of pale lager and lemonade. A very enjoyable offering.

From Hipercor. In Teku glass. At lunch, with rice soup + croquettes. A standard industrial, a bit metallic, shandy with the plus of being gluten-free without affecting the taste.

This is an okay shandy. Looks the part. Very bubbly. Smelled like lemons. It delivered a lot of lemonade-like flavor. More sweet than tart with hardly any beer-like flavors.

Artwork: Bright yellow with stencil-like text. Pretty lame.
Appearance: Very hazy bright yellow and with hardly any head.
Nose: You smell the lemon/lime before you smell any beer.
Taste: Pretty refreshing. It's hard to tell there's any beer in there though.
Mouthfeel: Fairly light as one would expect.
Overall: Judged for what it is, this is a very nice and refreshing beverage perfect for hot weather.

I had purchased this during my most recent visit to Pinocchio's Bottle Shop in Media. PA & with all of the lime/lemon beers that I have drunk tonight, this seemed like a logical follow-on to them. I will take a pic & get it submitted tomorrow.
From the bottle: "Beer with natural lemon and lime flavors"; "Lager beer & Lemonade crafted to remove Gluten".
Once again, nothing happened until the cap was Pop!ped and following that, I gave it an aggro pour. It initially raised two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with excellent retention, but I allowed to slightly settle before pouring the remainder of the contents of the bottle. Color was a hazy Pale-Straw (SRM = 1 - 2). Nose had a sweetish lemony scent, like Old Tyme Country Lemonade mix that I sold as a kid. Hmmm. Mouthfeel was full, almost creamy. The mouthfeel, coupled with the sweet taste, made me think of lemon pie filling. Interesting, but it was not really what I was after. Finish was semi-sweet, where I would have preferred that it be (at least) semi-dry, especially in the face of tonight's crushing humidity. I hope that others will chime in about this one as I hate to be the lone arbiter.
