In my glass, this Red IPA looks like a tea-heavy Arnold Palmer. Granted, it had a better head than that non-carbonated beverage, one that produces a decent bordering on large amount of lacing.
Nose has the amber waves of grain, maintaining a tea-like aspect in my mind. Earthy to wet leaves, there’s a citrus juice splash as well - but it comes with a little pine to dispel the tea/lemonade comparison a bit.
Taste continues the tea impression to me. I’m not a big hoppy red/amber fan but this isn’t falling into disfavor here. The amber ale does get a bit dominated by an orange and lemon citrus fruity flavor by mid-taste, but the opening is black iced tea to me.
Fairly smooth, with a tickling, filling carbonation, this beer somehow combines an earthy, lightly toasted malt with a citrus hop profile that keeps it in a place where I can appreciate it.
