Very good strong Porter!! The bourbon barrel flavor was strong but not overpowering or overdone. Poured from a 12 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer featured a dense, dark brown color with lots of reddish light coming through. The medium sized tan head provided average retention. Lots of filmy tan lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste were pronounced and pleasurable. Lots of maltiness and bourbon barrel flavoring with a hint of cocoanut. Not overly sweet. Mouthfeel was rich with a touch of "bite" from the alcohol and bourbon flavoring. Plays up like a 10% + .abv beer. A slow sipper but enjoyable to savor.

12 ounce can poured into a goblet.
L: Fairly lively dark brown pour, one finger tan head fades quick but rises easily with a swirl, pours clear but is dark enough that it doesn’t let much light through around the edges.
S: Whiskey character, oak, vanilla and toasted coconut, some alcohol.
T: Whiskey forward, some sweet coconut and caramel malt flavors fade to sharper oak barrel flavors, hints of chocolate later in the glass.
F: Soft medium-weight body, moderate fizzy carbonation and alcohol put together a small bite rising at the finish, a bit tongue numbing.
O: An enjoyable sipper but a boozy one.
