Appearance: Poured with a thumbs worth of head that produced a bit of minor lacing and managed to stick around till about the half way mark. The body shows very low but steady carbonation, but with an unfiltered, partly cloudy yellow to gold shine.
Smell: Very floral, as I think honey tinged hyacinth is what is the dominant note with a backdrop of barley malt. Warming tends to make the floral note even stronger but it was good potency at pour.
Taste: Starts with a mild barley malt with a slight lemon and pepper note that turns to a more doughy bread note as floral hops take over and end with a crisp snap.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation is surprisingly good as it walks a fine line of sudsy and aggression, and a very nice mild floral aftertaste is present and disappears completely cleanly. Transitioning is well done as well it flows well and ends crisply.
Drinkability: Light bodied, but not absurdly so as it hits exactly where you want a Pilsner to be. Crisp and refreshing although could do a bit more in the later department. Sits down well and really, apart from me not really taking a likely to flowery beer for this kind of crisp guzzler, very well done.
Final Thoughts: This was a great Pilsner, and it has me looking forward to the can of Donna I have in the fridge from Fairweather. I would love to see this made with a different hop variety because apart from the floral being a nice flavor and taste, I didn't think it quite did the beer it's ultimate justice. Well done.

I love the look of an unfiltered Pilsner. It's apricot yellow and looks like it has some body. A grippy white head pastes thick strands of lace as it gradually falls.
Tangy, lemony, peppery. I learned Motueka is New Zealand's version of Saaz (more or less). That shows here. More delicate than punchy. There's a fresh biscuit/untoasted bread crust scent that I call Pilsner dough - it's here and I like it.
There's an elevated melon/pear brightness that takes this out of the traditional space of German pils. It's still got its doughy-ness with bits of fresh pepper and flower. A soft, earthy bitterness pulls through in the finish.
It's light but with texture. Creamy with delicate carbonation. The finish has got some grip but isn't decisive.
