Bright just short of clear golden yellow pour with a finger of fine bubbly white head.
Grainy pale malt on the nose - notes of berry, general fruity aroma - hint of citrus and melon, ?maybe a touch of lemon.
Palate hits with sweet grainy pale malt - lemon, berry, a fruit loop like flavour, notes of a slightly sweet white wine; very soft bitterness.
Smooth and clean slightly sweet with light end of medium mouthfeel that belies the 6.7% ABV - moderate carbonation - nicely drinkable if not otherwise remarkable.

473 mL can included in the 2022 Toronto Brewing beer advent calendar; dated Oct 19 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours a foggy pale golden-yellow hue, topped with just over an inch of fluffy, foamy white head that lingers for more than five minutes. It splatters a decent swath of sticky lace about behind it, with a frothy collar and filmy cap remaining in place. There is a vague whiff of ethanol, but I'm also getting a rich, grainy pale malt aroma, in addition to honey, white wine, grape and honeydew melon.
A tasty strong lager: grainy, bready pale malt sweetness first, with hints of passion fruit and citrus dissipating into a mildly fruity back end. White grape, berries, maybe some cantaloupe - these flavours all sort of blend together, none of them distinct. It's not boozy, but it is a little on the sweet side for an IPL, with low bitterness. Medium in body, with moderate carbonation that loses steam quickly - this lager starts off crisp and refreshing, but becomes considerably less so if you nurse the glass.
Final Grade: 3.77, a B+. Appropriately enough, Cold Comfort is a tad chest-warming - much like a macro "ice" beer, except without the associated crumminess. One thing I will say is that this is an understated and/or subdued beer, i.e. there's nothing I can point to specifically that really reaches out and grabs my attention. It's still a pleasant strong lager to quaff, just not an especially memorable one - I'd say that if you enjoy American craft lagers in general, it's worth a spin.
