32oz. crowler into Night Shift stemware. Shared with schen9303.
Nose is citrus, cane sugar, starfruit and overripe pineapple. So sweet its like having sugar cubes dipped in juice stuffed up my nose. Beer opens orange, mango, starfruit and pineapple. Juicy and sweet with a dank tropical fruit presence. How does a MN brewery do a NE IPA that's more NE than those offerings coming from the North East? This is pretty impressive. Body is light to medium with moderate to low carbonation. Smooth with a little prickle on the palate. Goes down soft and quenching.
This is a really impressive offering from Barrel Theory. To call this an IPA is really stretching the definition given how exceedingly sweet this is but aside from the style boundaries, this is one enjoyable beer.

From a crowler:
Appearance: Cloudy yellow-gold, good head and retention.
Smell: Danky, fruity, citrus.
Taste: Sweet, citrusy, fruity-berries, mild bitterness. A little malt comes through too.
Overall: One of my favorites from a great new brewery. Hugely hoppy and hugely drinkable. A showcase for the mosaic hop, great stuff!

Poured from a 750 ml flip top bottle into a chalice. Bottled on 9/5/2017.
Appearance: Pours a hazy amber orange. Moderate amount of bubbles and a solid finger of off white head that settles into a thin creamy layer.
Smell: A very juicy hop driven aroma with a scent of tropical fruit and pine. Big scent of citrus with some orange peel, grapefruit, mango, melon, and lemon with pineapple. Some piney hops as well. Malt hints of caramel, grains, and cracker with some yeast. A really good juicy aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a very juicy hop dominated taste with notes of tropical fruit and pine. Upfront citrus hop notes of orange peel, grapefruit, mango, lemon, and melon along with some pineapple. Earthy hop notes of pine resin. Background malt notes of caramel, cracker, and grains with yeast. A very good taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. Juicy, oily, and drying.
Overall: Another great juicy IPA from Barrel Theory. Great showcase of the Mosiac hop.
