A huge thanks to Jeff for this one. Little gets me more excited than a waxed 750ml from barrel theory. Into Night Shift stemware.
Nose is chocolate, vanilla, molasses, sweet soy sauce, sweet cream and booze. Moderately aromatic. Very typical Imperial Stout aromas. Beer opens vanilla, chocolate and sweet soy sauce. Notes of date, prunes and molasses in the middle with more sweet soy sauce towards the end. Never is this one overly boozy. Creamy throughout. Finishes chocolate and sweet cream. Delicious! Body is full with low carbonation. Slick, oily and dense in the mouth and goes down slightly hot with a lingering, sweet, sticky aftertaste. This is excellent!
In an age where pastry stouts are all the rage, this one is just right. The marshmallow fluff is out there but it's just enough to make this one not too sweet, but enhance the overall experience with a nice creaminess. Definitely worth trying.

On tap. Tan head. Black color.
So much marshmallow in this beer. Vanilla sweetness. Bourbon and oak. Fudgy. Full bodied. Warming heat from the bourbon.
Maybe a tad sweet for me, but otherwise great!

Beer was poured on draft at the brewery. This beer is a jet black with maybe a little bit of brown. The pour of the beer was up to the rim and there was no head present on this beer. The smell is sweet like marshmallow and the smell of booze is not well hidden (being 12% I didn't expect it to be). The taste is almost all booze that gets just a touch sweeter as the beer warms up. The mouthfeel of this beer is heavy and thick. To be fair this is not the style of beer I prefer, I was just trying it because I live right across the street from the brewery and saw the line of people wanting crowlers of this beer.

On draft at the brewery. Served in a 10oz tulip. Pour is dark black as expected. Light lacing that fades quickly.
Smell is very subtle marshmallow.
Picking up flavors of vanilla and bourbon and doesn’t seem overly sweet.
Mouthfeel is where this brew is lacking. Very thin and picking up too much carbonation for the style. Get that mouthfeel dialed in and it will be killer.
