Thanks to Jeff for this one. 750ml capped bottle into a Founders snifter. Shared with schen9303.
Pours super dense, thick, and rich. Motor oil with almost no head and filmy legs. Nose is peanut butter, chocolate, fudge, vanilla, and lactose. Rich, creamy, and one of the most peanut-buttery noses I've ever encountered. Beer opens fudge, silky smooth milk chocolate, and peanut butter. More peanut butter in the middle mixed with booze, a touch of smoke, and a sprinkle of awkward tartness. Creamy vanilla, molasses, and chocolate at the finish. Like the nose, the peanut butter never dissipates, instead wafting throughout. The very light tartness is alarming though. Body is full with low carbonation. Smooth and rich on the palate and goes down warm, but almost peanut ashy. Long finish with a lingering, filmy aftertaste.
Honestly, this one is a bit disappointing. I've liked almost everything I've had from Barrel Theory but this is a miss for me.
