Although my chances were decent, this 750ML bottle is my first internationally recorded raffle win in years. Split with my wife.

The pour is black & I have to wrestle a hard pour to raise a shy, short-lived head. The nose is cognac, vanilla, maple, & a touch of chocolate. Basically, like good lovin’.

Threat Level Midnight invites pouring an extra ounce (or two) into my glass versus my wife’s glass. So I did. Maple is draped over this like a stripper with a roll of twenties in his hand – just lovely. Vanilla & cognac tangle underneath the maple, rich chocolate, faintly pulsing bourbon, with a throughput of black onyx chocolate sugar amping up the sweetness & blood glucose levels. No roast or coffee. Thicker than almost anything Barrel Theory has put out to date. My sweet tooth is demanding sips at a frequent rate.

The integration of the ingredients is lovely & flawlessly executed (putting aside the missing coffee). Along with 100% That Witch, I believe the brewery has figured out this whole barrel game. Fantastic use of maple & an excellent brew.
