A huge thanks to Jeff for this one. 750ml capped bottle into a Side Project snifter.
This one pours thick, oily, and viscous. Super dense. I tried a long pour to get a head to no avail. No lace. Thick, oily legs that really coat the glass. Nose is chocolate, molasses, cocoa powder, fudge, and vanilla all sitting behind huge barrel overtones. Very aromatic. Beer opens chocolate, molasses, and sweet soy sauce. I get layers of anise, caramel, and vanilla in the middle. Barrel presence is distributed evenly from beginning to end. Fudge, more cocoa, and vanilla, and sweet cream at the end and finish. Chocolately aftertaste. This one displays real classic flavors. Body is thick with low carbonation. Slick, oily, and viscous on the palate and smooth, rich, and boozy going down with a long, lingering aftertaste. I really couldn't ask for more here.
This one's very close to perfect. Just a really well made classic example of the style.

On tap. Tan head. Black color.
Vanilla bomb. Not artificial or sweet. Chocolate and fudge. Barrel is really strong. Lots of oak and whiskey.
Fairly thick, but not pastry thick. Congrats on 3 years!
