750ml bottle purchased 12/21 and opened 12/22. Pours flat - no head, lacing, legs...nothing. Moderate aroma, little barrel or whiskey, very dark brown. Tastes include some chocolate/roast and definite spiciness. I know its vanilla but I sensed more cinnamon or peppers. The vanilla was not very appealing.

I'm sorry but I paid over 40 dollars for this bottle and it was really nothing special and not worthy of this price point. This is equivalent to over 120 per six pack. Disappointed and rethinking this brewer.

On Tap at BT Pours a dark mahogony color with a thin khaki head . Smell has vanilla wood and barrel . taste follows nose vanilla first with roasted malts ,chocolate and barrel . Mouth is sweet and the barrels of prestigious whiskey is weak on the palate. Overall twas tasty, very glad i got a pour instead of the bottle.

On tap.

Black color. Little tan head.

What I like about this beer is that it isn’t a full blown pastry stout. The vanilla is nice, but not overpowering. Beyond that, the barrel aged stout is only alright. The barrels aren’t that noticeable. It’s solid, but not with $10/4oz or $50/750 ml bottle. I’m glad I skipped a bottle on this one. Things are getting out of hand.
