Pours a foggy and coppery hue that leans more toward orange, sun-baked terra cotta. Biscuit and sweet toffee nose that is cut by a bit of hop spice from what I'm guessing is Saaz. Medium bodied, firm and bready texture, and generous carbonation lead to a dry finish; crisper and less creamy than traditional versions. Dark sweetness of caramel, and lighter, blonder, breadier notes of a pilsen; the caramel malt definitely provide the foundation for the rest of the flavors, and never truly fades. Subtle use of hops give it a rustic earthiness alongside the nuance of fresh cut wood bleeding sap. The fruity flavors of lemon and plum seem derived from the yeast.
