Another impulse purchase. I really need therapy. 750ML bottle split with my wife.
The pour is light orange, just hazed enough that I can’t see through it clearly. The smell is distinctly non-barleywine: sugary, sharp, slightly bitter oranges. Huh.
Muzzy is odd. Whether intentional or not – I’ve had some bangers & some serious nasties from this brewery – this misses the style by several dragon lengths. Upfront is strong ale: burgeoning fusel alcohol & a malty dryness. Then come the oranges covered in sharp, hoppy bitterness. All good. Then…the aftertaste. It. Is. Vile. The more I drink, the more unpleasant it becomes. Like metallic covered with must. Blech.
